About the Role
The Tekla Modeler (AISC) will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed 3D steel structures using Tekla Structures in accordance with AISC standards and project specifications. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chennai Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate structural and steel detailing models.
- Develop accurate shop and erection drawings.
- Ensure models meet client, engineering, and fabrication requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, detailers, and project managers to resolve design issues.
- Maintain model accuracy.
- Support project schedules and deliverables.
- Adhere to company quality and safety standards.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures for steel modeling and detailing.
- Familiarity with AISC standards and practices.
- Experience in structural and steel design and detailing, including connection detailing, fabrication shop drawings, and erection drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Solid understanding of structural concepts.
- Skills in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing revisions and change requests.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to accuracy, quality control, and project deadlines.
- Proficiency in relevant CAD tools.
- Proficiency in basic office productivity software.
- Willingness to work on-site in the Greater Chennai Area.
- Willingness to support multiple projects in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in steel detailing or modeling is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows is an advantage.
