Data Analyst – Finance Analytics

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analyst with a strong focus on Finance Analytics, Power BI, and financial reporting. The role involves analyzing financial data related to revenue, expenditure, budgeting, collections, and operational costs to develop insightful dashboards and reports. The candidate should be capable of transforming financial data into meaningful insights that support financial planning, performance monitoring, and management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for financial performance monitoring and reporting.
• Analyze revenue, expenditure, budget vs. actuals, cash flow, and financial trends.
• Track key financial metrics, identify variances, and investigate the reasons behind deviations from budgets and targets.
• Analyze fee collections, outstanding dues, operating expenses, and cost patterns to identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and consistency checks to ensure the accuracy of financial reports.
• Structure and transform financial data from multiple sources for reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with finance and accounts teams to understand financial data, reporting requirements, and business performance.
• Present financial insights through clear visualizations to support data-driven financial decisions.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong hands-on experience in Power BI, including data visualization, data modeling, DAX, and dashboard development.
• Good understanding of financial analytics, including budgeting, actuals, revenue, expenditure, cash flow, and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction, transformation, and integration.
• Advanced Excel skills for financial data preparation, validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to interpret financial data and translate findings into actionable business insights.

Qualifications

• Experience working with finance or accounts teams is preferred.
• Knowledge of financial reporting in an educational institution or multi-unit organization will be an added advantage.
