Assistant Fashion Designer

About the Role

The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the design team across the entire creation process, from initial concept to final garment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with sketching and developing design ideas.
• Source and coordinate textiles and trims.
• Support the creation of embroidery and surface design details.
• Organize samples.
• Participate in fittings.
• Document fit comments.
• Coordinate with the production team to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Help maintain mood boards, design archives, and style sheets.
• Collaborate closely with pattern makers and artisans.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Fashion Design skills (eye for silhouettes, colors, detailing).
• Understanding of Textiles (fabric types, properties, appropriate usage).
• Embroidery and surface ornamentation skills.
• Garment Fitting experience.
• Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator or similar) is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Fashion Design or a related field is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
