Software Engineer

About the Role

Join a major automotive manufacturing and development leader at their technology center in Central Ohio. This role focuses on the design and implementation of next-generation infotainment platforms, specifically targeting head unit software for future vehicle models. Key Responsibilities

• Take an active role in the full development lifecycle of multimedia and information systems.
• Collaborate with external software integration partners to guide products from initial design to final production.
• Hands-on evaluation and testing of system components within a vehicle environment to ensure performance standards and quality requirements.
• Capture system requirements.
• Draft technical specifications.
• Interpret complex test data to predict system performance.
• Create detailed technical reports and presentations.
• Manage project timelines and report progress.
• Research emerging trends in automotive architecture to influence future feature sets and development methodologies.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Up to three years of professional experience in a related field.
• Recent graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to draft clear technical documentation and specifications.

Physical Requirements and Environment

• Extensive vehicle-based testing and performance evaluation.
• Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regular standing, walking, and crouching during system installations.
• Potential exposure to extreme temperatures, radio frequencies, and compressed gases during laboratory or field testing.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to operate test vehicles.
