About the Role
Harbor Oaks Hospital is seeking a passionate Behavioral Health Associate to join their team in New Baltimore, MI. This role is responsible for providing personal care services to patients under the direction of clinical or nursing leadership.
Pay Range: $17.50 - $23.31 per hour
Day and Night positions available
Rotating Holidays and Weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service with a sense of urgency related to patient safety.
- Ensure patient well-being and maintain a positive, supportive, and structured environment.
- Conduct safety checks and provide supervision at 15-minute intervals or as per individualized guidelines.
- Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in patient records.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, significant others, and staff.
- Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration, changing linens).
- Obtain patient vital signs, height, and weight as assigned and document in patient records.
- Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups on topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills.
- Engage patients in activities to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
- Complete and maintain required documentation, including paperwork for incidents and events.
- Provide or coordinate patient transportation.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude, and resolve patient complaints.
- Perform other assigned functions and tasks.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certification required.
- De-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid may be required.
Qualifications
- Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility is preferred.
