Summer 2027 Intern, Data Engineer

About the Role

As a Data Engineer intern for American Family Insurance, you will assist in building and enhancing data pipelines using SQL, Python and cloud technologies. You will analyze data issues, perform quality checks, and support troubleshooting and resolution. You will work with engineering and business teams to document solutions and deliver reliable data for analytics and reporting.

The summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August. During your internship, you'll work on impactful projects that make a difference at our company, with our customers, and in our communities. You'll also gain exposure to different areas of our business and have numerous opportunities for networking and coaching.

Compensation Minimum: $25.00

Compensation Maximum: $39.00

Qualifications

• Must be in student status at an accredited 4-year college or university during the internship, graduating August 2027 or later.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD.
• Major/program must align with internship role.
• Strongly prefer candidates graduating in August 2027, December 2027 or May 2028.

Additional Information:

• All employees participate in our New Employee Orientation during their first week. This experience is held in person at our Madison, WI Headquarters or one of our AmFam core locations. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.

• Work location may be considered for a Full-Time in Office or Hybrid work arrangement based on the selected candidate's location. Work locations for this role include Madison, WI.
