About the Role
FastMed Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to assist providers with exams, procedures, and other patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Triaging patients, measuring vitals, and recording information on patient charts
- Performing blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and completing lab work
- Administering medications and immunizations under provider direction
- Setting up procedures as instructed by a provider
- Preparing treatment rooms for examinations
- Escorting patients from the waiting room to exam rooms
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic program
- Active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation
- 6 months of experience in a relevant environment
- Prior recent experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., emergency department, urgent care, ambulatory clinic) preferred
Qualifications
- Graduate of one of the following programs:
- Medical Assistant or passing of CCMA examination
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA state license required) with phlebotomy certificate
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A)
- Paramedic
- Graduate of another relevant program with CMO approval
- Possesses active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) designation
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- BLS certification through American Safety Health Institute or National Safety Council preferred
