Security Specialist

About the Role

DK Security is seeking a Security Specialist (Unarmed Security Officer) for a multi-warehouse distribution center for a large Midwest retailer. This role offers an opportunity to grow, develop, and meet new people in a professional, team-oriented setting that serves a critical purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery Access Control: Check in/out Semi Truck deliveries at the Guard House using computer software.
• Patrolling: Walk the interior and exterior of buildings, monitoring for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Mobile Patrol: Drive the security vehicle around the site, patrolling parking lots and building exteriors.
• Warehouse Access Control: Ensure client employees complete COVID health screenings and provide next-step directions.
• Dispatching: Follow procedures for dispatching personnel for emergency and non-emergency responses.
• Monitoring: Accurately and quickly utilize computer-aided software and monitor the CCTV system using recording devices.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Current Openings: Guard House - $18.85/hour
• Position Type: Part-time, Variable Days, 0700-1500 or 0800-1600
• Location: Byron Center, MI
• Technology: Computer software, CCTV system, computer-aided software.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• May NOT have any felony convictions and must pass a criminal background check.
• Must successfully pass a drug test at hire and randomly thereafter.
• Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified.
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record:
• Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years.
• No other major violations in the last 3 years.
• Physical Requirements:
• Able to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of the shift, including long distances and stairs.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Readily able to respond to emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
