About the Role
The CAD Design Intern role is an internship position and is fully remote. The intern will support the design team by producing and refining technical drawings, 2D and 3D CAD models, and documentation for automotive parts. This role offers hands-on experience with industry tools and workflows, along with mentorship to build practical design skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing and refining technical drawings, 2D and 3D CAD models, and documentation for automotive parts.
- Following established CAD standards.
- Updating existing designs.
- Assisting with design revisions.
- Preparing drawings for review and production.
- Collaborating with engineers and designers.
- Participating in virtual design reviews.
- Ensuring that all drawings meet quality and accuracy requirements.
Qualifications
- Skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Drawing.
- Skills in CAD Standards and Technical Drawing.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM), where relevant to design workflows.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or automotive design principles is beneficial.
- Ability to learn new software tools, follow technical instructions, and pay close attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
- Enrollment in or completion of a program in engineering, design, or a related technical field is preferred.
