About the Role

The Operation Theatre Technologist at Manipal Hospital Kolkata is responsible for supporting safe and efficient surgical procedures in a full-time, on-site role in Kolkata.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining operation theatres.
• Ensuring sterilization and availability of instruments, equipment, and consumables before, during, and after surgeries.
• Assisting surgical and anesthesia teams.
• Managing OT equipment.
• Monitoring supplies.
• Adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Documenting procedures as required.
• Coordinating with nursing and other clinical staff.
• Supporting emergency and scheduled surgeries as part of a rotating duty schedule.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Operation theatre equipment and related devices.
• Managing and coordinating procedure flows.
• Communication with surgical teams and support staff.
• Attention to detail in handling instruments, maintaining sterility, and following infection control standards.
• Strong understanding of basic human anatomy, surgical procedures, and perioperative practices.
• Ability to work in shifts, respond to emergencies, and perform efficiently in high-pressure clinical environments.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Operation Theatre Technology or an equivalent allied health program from a recognized institution.
• Prior experience in a hospital operation theatre setting is preferred.
