Advisor, Solutions Architecture

About the Role

Fiserv is a global leader in Fintech and payments. We are seeking a talented and experienced Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Solution Architect, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and innovative payment processing solutions for our clients. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our organization by providing technical guidance, overseeing the development of robust payment systems, and ensuring seamless integration with client applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design: Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and development teams to define and design end-to-end payment processing solutions that meet business requirements, industry standards, and security regulations.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and expertise throughout the entire project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, implementation, and support. Drive architectural decisions and ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
• System Integration: Evaluate existing systems and develop integration strategies to ensure seamless communication and data exchange between payment processing systems and client applications, such as e-commerce platforms, mobile apps, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• API Development: Design and document APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to facilitate secure and efficient communication between various payment systems and client applications. Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper implementation and adherence to industry standards.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure that payment processing solutions adhere to industry security standards (such as PCI DSS) and comply with relevant regulations. Identify potential security risks, recommend, and implement appropriate controls and safeguards.
• Technical Consultation: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical guidance, best practices, and recommendations related to payment processing technologies, trends, and emerging industry standards.
• Documentation and Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, user guides, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for internal teams and clients as necessary.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, quality assurance engineers, and operations teams, to ensure successful delivery of payment processing solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role in the payment industry or related domains.
• Deep understanding of payment processing technologies, including payment gateways, card networks, tokenization, encryption, fraud prevention, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of payment industry standards, such as PCI DSS, EMV, ISO 8583, and other relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in API design and integration using RESTful APIs and messaging protocols (e.g., SOAP, JSON, XML).
• Experience with cloud-based solutions, microservices architecture, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, infrastructure as code).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications That Would Be Great To Have

• Knowledge of emerging payment technologies, such as mobile payments, digital wallets, and blockchain-based solutions.
