About the Role

This part-time remote Cloud Engineer role focuses on supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments.
• Monitor system performance.
• Troubleshoot basic infrastructure and connectivity issues.
• Work with Linux-based systems.
• Configure databases.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement best practices for security, scalability, and reliability.
• Document configurations.
• Follow change management procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud operations and development workflows.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to work with Software Development concepts and tools, including basic programming, version control, and application deployment practices.
• Foundational understanding of Infrastructure components such as servers, networks, storage, and system monitoring.
• Knowledge of Cloud Computing platforms and services, with interest in learning common architectures and managed services.
• Comfort working with Linux operating systems, including command-line usage, basic administration, and scripting.
• Experience or coursework related to Databases, including basic SQL, data modeling concepts, and performance considerations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn from feedback.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a remote, distributed team environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in cloud security, automation (e.g., CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code), and obtaining industry certifications is considered a plus.
