About the Program

FutureFocus is an all-expenses-paid five-day program in Mumbai designed to ignite your potential as a future trader, researcher, or software engineer at Optiver.

• Program Dates: 30 November, 2026 - 4 December, 2026
• Applications Close: 27 October, 2026
• Location: Optiver Mumbai office
• Expenses: Optiver will cover all travel & accommodation expenses.

What You'll Do

Led by ex-traders and ex-engineers, the in-house education team will guide you through the intricacies of market making with a mix of hands-on and classroom learning.

• Learn the fundamentals of trading theory, build trading strategies, and deploy them in a virtual market.
• Gain insights into Optiver’s cutting-edge trading systems and understand how they remain at the forefront of global financial markets.
• Connect with recent graduates and hear their experiences.
• Receive mentorship and support from in-house trainers and senior traders.
• Experience Optiver's culture and perks, including daily breakfast, lunch, coffee, and weekly massages.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Student Status: Pre-penultimate student (graduating in 2029).
• Universities:
• IIT Bombay
• IIT Delhi
• IIT Madras
• IIT Kanpur
• IIT Kharagpur
• If your university is not listed, select "Other" and manually enter it in the application form.
• Disciplines: Pursuing B.Tech or Integrated Dual Degree in:
• Computer Science Engineering
• Math & Computing
• Electrical and Electronics Engineering
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• AI & DS
• Mechanical Engineering & similar disciplines.
• Academic Requirement: Minimum CGPA of 9.0 or above.

Program Streams

The FutureFocus program offers two streams. You can apply for only one stream.

• Trading and Research:
• Traders make trading decisions based on market conditions, driven by analytical problem solving.
• Researchers collaborate closely with traders and developers to build and improve trading strategies, often working with large datasets and using statistical and machine learning algorithms.
• Technology:
• Software and FPGA Developers design and build high-performance systems that solve real business problems, driven by the desire to find the simplest solutions to complex problems.
