Role Description

The Junior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greater Chennai Area. The individual will support daily accounting operations, including posting journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations
• Post journal entries
• Maintain ledgers
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable
• Record transactions
• Reconcile bank statements
• Monitor petty cash
• Support monthly and annual closing activities
• Help prepare basic financial reports
• Verify documentation for accuracy
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
• Maintain organized financial records
• Comply with relevant accounting standards
• Assist senior accounting staff with audits and process improvements

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries, ledgers, and basic financial reporting.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, and handle cash and expense tracking.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software tools.
• Comfort working with numerical data and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with sales, operations, and management teams.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Interest in the mobile or retail industry.
