Role Description
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team in a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chennai Area for a duration of 60 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
- Create and update CAD models and drawings.
- Participate in prototype building and testing.
- Analyze performance data.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Contribute to documentation of design changes and test results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Support project planning activities.
- Maintain safety and quality standards.
Work
- Mechanical design and 3D CAD modelling.
- Machine-ready drawings and design development.
- Fabrication, assembly and testing.
- R&D and prototype development.
Qualifications
- Strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals and an understanding of basic mechanical systems and materials.
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills, including experience with common CAD software for modeling and drafting.
- Analytical Skills for problem-solving, data interpretation, and performance evaluation of mechanical designs.
- Communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, document work clearly, and present findings.
- Project Management awareness, including the ability to organize tasks, meet deadlines, and support project execution.
- Enrollment in or completion of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawings is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to hands-on engineering work are highly valued.
