About the Role
Kenworth Truck Company, a division of PACCAR, is seeking an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer - Cost Reduction to join their team on-site in Kirkland, WA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement commercial truck design improvements using various fabrication methods (forming, casting, injection molding) with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
- Create assemblies using Creo Parametric® to meet structural, ergonomic, aesthetic, and quality goals.
- Utilize the Product Creation Process and Tollgate for project management, reporting, and applying Six Sigma skills.
- Employ PACCAR and industry systems to manage product change implementation, tracking project schedule, budget, and functional requirements.
- Validate designs by working with internal and external organizations.
- Collaborate closely with multiple PACCAR divisions.
- Manage multiple priorities and goals simultaneously.
- Apply creativity and propose innovative approaches to design tasks.
- Up to 10% travel.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 0-1+ years of experience required.
- Proficiency using Creo Parametric® or other CAD solid modeling software preferred.
- Competence in personal computer software such as word processing, database, and spreadsheets desired.
- Willingness to utilize engineering processes and techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
- Requires independent judgment and effective project management.
- Ability to manage costs, time, and resources; strong self-motivation.
