Business Analyst (2 to 4 Years), Lending

About the Role

PhonePe is a technology company building digital platforms for Payments, Digital Distribution Services, and Financial Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Define critical metrics as part of the pod strategy, monitor performance trends, and influence interventions based on performance.
• Collaborate closely with business and product functions to understand business problems and translate them into analytical problem statements.
• Own the entire insight generation phase, conducting deep analysis to provide unbiased answers backed by data-driven hypotheses.
• Contribute individual thoughts on improving critical metrics, thinking like a business owner and using data to validate ideas.
• Act as the analytics and visualization SME, ensuring dashboards are designed for easy data consumption by the pod.
• Mentor other analysts, actively participate in the hiring process, and onboard new team members.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• SQL: Ability to write complex queries to manipulate and consolidate multiple data sources for dashboarding and analysis.
• Excel: Strong working knowledge.
• Visualization Tools: PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView.
• Data Analysis Languages: Understanding of R, Python.
• Statistical Concepts: Core statistical concepts.
• Communication: Ability to clearly explain thoughts and ideas verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of overall analytics experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the lending domain.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Penchant for business and curiosity to understand product functionality.
• Intuition for data and ability to handle big data sources.
• Candidates who can explain the story behind their analysis will have an advantage.
• Experience in building ML models is good-to-have, but not mandatory.
