About the Role
The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) is seeking a motivated HR Generalist 1 to join our human resources team at District Eight Headquarters in Randolph County (Elkins, WV). This role manages district recruitment efforts, coordinates district-wide training programs, and facilitates on-boarding and orientation experiences. It also involves maintaining accurate employee records and supporting the administration of the drug and alcohol testing program. The position will cross-train across major HR functional areas.

Requirements & Tech Stack
- Valid driver’s license (travel may be required)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Substitution: Experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula.
- No experience is required for this position.
Promotional Only Requirement:
- Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Human Resources Specialist Associate.
