Assistant Fashion Designer

About the Role

The Assistant Fashion Designer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru, supporting senior designers in developing seasonal collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior designers in developing seasonal collections.
• Assist with concept development.
• Sketch designs.
• Prepare mood boards.
• Coordinate fabric and trim selection.
• Work on embroidery and surface embellishments.
• Assist with fittings to ensure accurate silhouettes and garment construction.
• Collaborate with production teams.
• Maintain design documentation.
• Help prepare samples and technical details for client presentations.
• Stay updated on fashion trends, textiles, and market preferences to contribute fresh ideas.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, including sketches, silhouettes, and collection development.
• Practical knowledge of Textiles and Embroidery.
• Experience supporting garment Fitting processes, with attention to sizing, drape, and construction quality.
• Relevant academic background in Fashion Design or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in basic design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar) is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple design tasks within deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Prior internship or work experience in a fashion studio or apparel export environment is an advantage.
