System Engineer I

About the Role

This is an onsite entry-level role located in Las Cruces, NM. We are seeking Systems Engineers to work as part of a team that performs and provides Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (OM&E) Command and Control functions to a proprietary customer. This position requires availability for non-scheduled call-in and involves working a combination of day staff and shift schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and assist in execution of real-time command and control and mission planning activities to satisfy customer requirements.
• Document system performance.
• Interact with other team members to validate operational requirements.
• Support test activities as necessary.
• Support maintaining a 24/7 operational system through procedural responses and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Perl, Python, VBA and/or other scripting languages.
• Proficient use of both Windows and Unix platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, radio frequency, electrical components, digital signal processing, or other related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• An active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Top Secret/ SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph security clearance is required.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
• Experience providing/receiving training.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
