Research Scientist Intern
Meta
About the Role
Reality Labs (RL) teams bring together a world-class R&D team of researchers and engineers to build innovative photo, video, and AR/VR experiences. We work on technologies that ship across all Meta surfaces ranging from Facebook to Instagram to the AR/VR Oculus products. We work at the intersection of Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, and Machine Learning. The aim of this role is to develop and advance the state-of-the-art in computational photography. The goal of the internship is to contribute to a research project and contribute to new methodologies that can be experienced by billions of people around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop and prototype advanced technologies in the domain of Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, and Machine Learning.
- Deliver research results that are both publishable and have a direct impact on Facebook and/or Oculus products.
- Analyze the efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and stability of currently deployed technologies to identify opportunities for impact through novel research.
- Collaborate with team members throughout the lifetime of a project, from research to prototyping to deploying products.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Currently is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- Experience in one or more areas of Computer Science, such as Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Image Processing, and Computational Photography.
- Experience with modern C++ and/or Python.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
Qualifications
- Intent to return to their degree program after the completion of the internship.
- Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey research ideas to a broad audience.
