Senior Engineer

About the Role

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Engineering Group, specifically in Systems Test Engineering. This role involves testing and modifying general systems-level software/hardware and specialized utility/hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Interprets wireless specifications.
• Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
• Documents systems-level defects using a bug tracking system and reports them to developers.
• Identifies, analyzes, troubleshoots, and documents problems with program function, output, or content.
• Develops testing programs that assess the effectiveness of new systems or modifications to existing systems.
• Automates test cases and executes them.
• Participates in product design reviews to understand feature design and provide input on potential gaps.
• Conducts log analyses to identify issue occurrences.
• Fixes script errors in automation and creates automated tests.
• Gathers, integrates, and interprets information from various sources to troubleshoot issues.
• Escalates technical issues to more senior colleagues.
• Communicates status and information about impending obstacles to the project lead via email and direct conversation.
• Provides clear reports on activities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Good understanding of WLAN/BT protocol and communication in general.
• Experience with coding in C#/C++ or Python.
• Experience with Software Test or System Test.
• Experience in developing and automating test plans and tools.
• Familiarity with Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools.
• Mandatory WLAN & BT protocol knowledge.
• Scripting/programming languages such as C, C#, C++, Java, Python are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications (choose one path):
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Test Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4 - 6 years of experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans, and tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
