Reports To: Senior / Mid-Level Drone Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and Integration
  • Assemble, wire, and integrate multirotor and fixed-wing drones on the production line and in R&D, following build standards and checklists.
  • Install and configure flight controllers, ESCs, motors, GNSS, telemetry radios, and power systems.
  • Integrate payloads and sensors such as gimbal cameras, LiDAR, and companion computers under senior guidance.
  • Solder, crimp, and build harnesses to a production-quality standard; follow ESD practices.
  • Design Support
  • Create and modify 3D parts, mounts, and enclosures in SolidWorks; prepare drawings for 3D printing and CNC cutting.
  • Support propulsion and battery selection by running bench and thrust tests and recording results.
  • Software and Configuration
  • Set up and tune ArduPilot parameters; use Mission Planner / QGroundControl for calibration, mission planning, and log review.
  • Write and maintain Python scripts for testing, MAVLink communication, and data logging.
  • Assist with companion-computer setup for edge-AI detection and tracking applications.
  • Testing, QC, and Documentation
  • Carry out pre-flight checks, hover-cage tests, and field flight trials; analyze flight logs and report issues.
  • Perform quality checks on finished drones and maintain build, test, and configuration records.
  • Troubleshoot and repair drones returned from the field.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Hardware
  • Hands-on experience building and flying at least one multirotor drone.
  • Working knowledge of flight controller, ESC, motor, and battery (LiPo / Li-ion) setup.
  • Good soldering, wiring, and electronics fault-finding skills; ability to use a multimeter and power supply.
  • Basic understanding of sensors (GNSS, IMU, camera) and RF telemetry links.
  • Software and Design
  • Hands-on experience with ArduPilot (or PX4) and Mission Planner / QGroundControl.
  • Programming in Python (mandatory); basic C/C++.
  • SolidWorks (mandatory) and AutoCAD for parts and drawings.
  • Basic understanding of MAVLink.

Good to Have

  • Fixed-wing or VTOL build experience.
  • Lua scripting in ArduPilot.
  • Edge-AI experience on Jetson / Raspberry Pi (e.g., YOLO-based detection).
  • Basic PCB design (KiCad / Altium / Eagle) or embedded projects on STM32 / ESP32.
  • Drone pilot certificate (DGCA RPC) or competition experience (e.g., SAE, IIT techfests).

Qualifications

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • Experience: 0–2 years. Freshers are welcome if they can show drones they have built and flown, through projects, internships or competitions.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Hands-on, careful, and eager to learn.
  • Follows safety, ESD, and battery-handling procedures.
  • Willing to travel for field trials and deployments.

What We Offer

  • Hands-on work across multirotor, fixed-wing, and autonomy projects from day one.
  • Mentoring by experienced drone engineers and a clear path to a Drone Engineer role.
  • An in-house facility with assembly, fabrication, 3D printing, and hover-test infrastructure.
  • Salary as per industry standards.
