About the Role

Secondz is building software that automates complex business workflows using AI. Our product processes real-world RFQs, Excel files, PDFs, and business documents to deliver accurate and reliable results. We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer who wants to strengthen their backend engineering skills by working on real product features alongside our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and integrate REST APIs for frontend applications.
• Work with PostgreSQL to create queries and manage application data.
• Implement request validation, error handling, and business logic.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Assist with file upload and document-processing workflows.
• Write basic unit tests and debug backend issues.
• Collaborate with frontend and AI teams to deliver features.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and code reviews.
• Follow clean coding practices and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic to intermediate Python programming.
• Understanding of functions, classes, modules, and exception handling.
• Familiarity with FastAPI or Flask.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON.
• Basic SQL knowledge and familiarity with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of environment variables and API configuration.
• Willingness to learn debugging, testing, and backend development best practices.

Good to Have

• Basic knowledge of SQLAlchemy or an ORM.
• Familiarity with Pydantic and request validation.
• Understanding of authentication and API security fundamentals.
• Basic Docker knowledge.
• Experience working with file uploads or cloud storage.
• Personal backend projects or a GitHub portfolio.

Compensation & Work Details
