UX Research Intern
PortfolioFuture
About the Role
PortfolioFuture is an independent fund discovery and intelligence company. As a UX Research Intern, you will shape how investors, advisors, and asset managers move from discovering a fund to understanding the evidence behind it. The role covers information architecture, interaction design, and research communication across fund discovery, fund substitution, fund decomposition, and portfolio research. You will work with research and engineering from problem definition through implementation, and test your designs with the people who actually use them.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve the user experience across fund discovery, fund substitution, fund decomposition, and portfolio research.
- Decide how rankings, comparisons, evidence, explanations, and fund information should be organized on the page.
- Improve first-time comprehension so visitors can quickly understand what PortfolioFuture found and why it matters.
- Translate quantitative research into clear visual and interactive experiences.
- Improve the path from a fund page to deeper research, comparisons, and related investment opportunities.
- Identify where users become confused, miss important evidence, or fail to understand the value of the research.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready designs for new and existing research experiences.
- Test design ideas with users and use what you learn to improve product comprehension.
- Build reusable design patterns that can scale across thousands of funds and research pages.
- Design interfaces that keep commercial content clearly separate from research conclusions.
- Work closely with research and engineering from problem definition through implementation.
- Test designs across devices, page types, and datasets to make sure they hold up at scale.
