Postdoctoral Scholar, BME /Tissue Engineering

About the Role

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) is anticipating openings for postdoctoral scholar positions (Levels L0-L2) in the area of tissue engineering for the 2026-27 academic year. Initial appointments are for a two-year period, with renewal based on job performance and availability of support. The total duration of postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including service at other institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research in biomolecular and cellular engineering related to the following areas:
• Musculoskeletal system
• Cardiovascular engineering
• Immunoengineering
• Biomaterials
• Neuroengineering
• Urinary and gastrointestinal engineering
• Spatial cell biology

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or biology.
• Experience in one or more of the focus research areas listed above.

Salary

• Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
• A reasonable estimate for this position is $71,491.00 - $76,881.00.
