About the Role
Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Floater to join our team in Chicago, IL. This is a Full Time position, scheduled for 40 hours per week.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 6:00 am-8:00 pm and rotating Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
- Must be at least 21 years’ old
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program (if used in lieu of work experience) must come from an accredited agency.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience with pediatric and geriatric patients
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $17.75 - $24.50 per hour
- Float Incentive: Additional $2.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
