Industrial Engineer

About the Role

At Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, the Avionics Product Center Industrial Engineering Team optimizes manufacturing efficiency for advanced helicopters.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations Leadership to implement new technologies, methodologies, optimize production layouts, and facilitate continuous improvement.
• Utilize tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, and other data analysis software to derive actionable insights.
• Develop and leverage daily and weekly reports to monitor manufacturing labor performance metrics, addressing cost, schedule, and production challenges.
• Analyze and design operations sequences and workflows to improve efficiencies in plant, production facilities, and equipment layouts, establishing methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
• Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
• Develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods based on studies.
• May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize assignments.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data analytics.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desired Skills

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified - knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and experience implementing process improvements.
• Familiarity with SAP or a related manufacturing system.
• Experience with Excel Macros, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Tableau.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
• Experience in manufacturing/shop floor environment.
