About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Network Engineer role based in Chennai.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related hardware.
- Monitor network performance.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
- Apply configuration changes to improve stability and efficiency.
- Implement network security best practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams on network requirements.
- Document configurations and procedures.
- Support upgrades or migration projects.
- Participate in incident response and change management workflows.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design.
- Experience planning, configuring, and optimizing enterprise networks.
- Proficiency in Network Administration, including managing routers, switches, firewalls, and network services.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting network issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems.
- Knowledge of Network Security principles, including access control, segmentation, VPNs, and secure configuration practices.
- Familiarity with common networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP).
- Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, SNMP-based monitoring, log analysis).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant technical certification (such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+) is preferred.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and a commitment to maintaining high availability and security standards.
