About the Role
Creata is seeking a Product Engineer to join their team in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. This hybrid position involves working with a cross-functional team to develop toys and consumer products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects and guide a cross-functional team from concept through delivery.
- Create project timelines and monitor them to ensure work occurs on time.
- Create a work breakdown structure for each job.
- Create a bill of materials and client specifications as required for each design.
- Product costing and cost reduction.
- Evaluate tariffs and production locations strategically.
- Collaborate with manufacturing resources in China to ensure accurate costing and manufacturability.
- Work with manufacturing resources in China and Latin America for production.
- Partner with creative and safety teams to ensure products are fun and safe.
- Work with model shops and extended Creata teams in China to ensure designs function properly and meet aesthetic requirements.
- Manage logistics for several clients and report directly to clients.
- Collaborate with clients and licensors to ensure alignment and approval of products.
- Implement continuous improvement by creating better processes and techniques, and storing information for future programs.
- Lead team calls with internal teams and factories.
- May require travel ~20% of the time domestically or internationally.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Project management experience (PMP preferred).
- Experience with Excel.
- Experience with logistics preferred.
- Some 3-D CAD experience is preferred.
- Experience with 3D printing is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team facilitator and collaborator.
- Innovative, optimistic, and relentless in solving issues on designs, timelines, budgets, etc.
- Persuasive and diplomatic.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Injection molding, manufacturing, assembly, and costing.
Qualifications
- BS in mechanical engineering or similar degree/experience.
