About the Role
The Indirect Tax Associate will handle GST compliance for clients of S P V S & Co., Chartered Accountants across different industries. This is a full-time, on-site role.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and filing monthly GST returns.
- Reconciling input tax credit with GSTR-2B.
- Preparing annual returns in GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C.
- Drafting replies to GST notices.
- Preparing GST appeals.
- Assisting clients during departmental audits.
- Tracking changes in GST law.
- Keeping client records and filing trackers up to date.
- Regular interaction with clients, the internal team and GST officers.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- GST portal
- Excel (including lookups, filters, and pivot tables)
- Tally
- ERP packages
Qualifications
- CA Inter, or a graduate in commerce (B.Com, BBA or a related discipline) with experience in an auditor’s office.
- Exposure to GST return filing, annual returns, or replies to GST notices.
- Working knowledge of the GST portal and basic GST concepts.
- Good Excel skills.
- Exposure to Tally and ERP packages.
- Good written and spoken communication in English and Tamil.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet due dates across several clients.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpretation skills for complex tax issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members and to present technical information effectively.
- High ethical standards.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
