Registered Nurse, Emergency Department

Sentara Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Emergency Department team at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA. This role is for the Third (Nights) shift.

About the Role

This is an ideal position for RN candidates who enjoy a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available. No contract is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
• Uphold standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas.

Transition to Practice/Nurse Residency Program (For New Graduates)

This 10-week program is designed to support the transition to practice for new graduates. It is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program and includes:

• Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards via Elsevier’s Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) modules, blended with in-person sessions.
• Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines recommended by the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA).
• Hands-on experience in the ED alongside a trained nurse preceptor.
• Opportunity to share experiences and network with peers in a protected environment.
• A series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Registered Nurse (Required)
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Nursing (Required)
• Previous acute care experience (Preferred)
• Customer service focused

Compensation

• Base pay range: $41.93 - $61.01 hourly for full-time employment.
• Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
• Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
