Tax Associate

About the Role

AbitOs Accountants + Advisors is seeking a Tax Associate to join its team in Boca Raton, Florida. This role offers an opportunity to expand technical tax knowledge, gain exposure to complex domestic and international matters, and build client relationships within a growing CPA firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare federal, state, and international tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Prepare and assist with tax forms including 1040, 1120, 1065, 5471, 5472, FBAR, and related filings.
• Review client financial information and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
• Assist with tax research, compliance, and client-related projects.
• Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve questions, and support timely completion of engagements.
• Collaborate with Managers, Partners, and other team members while developing strong client and internal relationships.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Understanding of accounting principles, including accrual and cash-basis accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous public accounting or tax experience.
• Experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and/or international tax returns.
• Familiarity with UltraTax CS, CCH ProSystem, QuickBooks, and Practice CS.
• Exposure to international tax reporting, including Forms 5471, 5472, and FBAR.

Master's degree preferred.
