Android Platform Software Engineering Intern

About the Role

• This position is for a Software Engineering Summer Internship at Motorola Solutions.
• You will work with groups that develop and test software for products at the core of Motorola Solutions communications systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Involved in the design and development of state of the art microprocessor-based digital communication systems.
• Software development phases include requirements capture, design, implementation, and test.
• Conduct development phases using mature software development processes such as TDD & Agile methodologies.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Knowledge of Java, Android Studio, and Android SDK.
• Embedded software development using Object Oriented Design.
• Knowledge of C / C++, and / or Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of software development in the Linux kernel is a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile / Scrum development methodology is a plus.
• Knowledge of Test Driven Development is a plus.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills - verbal & written.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in one of the following degree programs: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
