Sustainable Fashion Creative Assistant

About the Role

NerdDNA is seeking a full-time, on-site Sustainable Fashion Creative Assistant in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role develops and showcases sustainable fashion concepts aligned with NerdDNA’s values, including upcycling, responsible material use, and conscious consumption.

Key Responsibilities

• Create multimedia content, including social media posts, short-form videos, blog articles, and visual storytelling, highlighting sustainable fashion practices and NerdDNA programs.
• Plan and execute content campaigns.
• Collaborate with team members on workshops and events.
• Engage community partners and audiences through educational and inspirational fashion-focused content.
• Support brand messaging and maintain a consistent visual and narrative identity.
• Track content performance to optimize engagement.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Demonstrated ability to create sustainable fashion designs or concepts, including upcycling, material sourcing, and responsible styling.
• Experience producing digital content (social media, short-form video, blog posts, photography) with a strong visual and narrative focus.
• Knowledge of sustainability, environmental awareness, and conscious living principles, especially as they relate to fashion and lifestyle.
• Skill in storytelling, brand-aligned messaging, and translating complex ideas into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Comfort working on-site in collaborative, community-oriented settings, including events, workshops, and educational programs.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to plan content calendars, meet deadlines, and support multiple initiatives.
• Basic familiarity with content and design tools (e.g., social media platforms, video editing apps, photo editing software, or similar tools).

Qualifications

• Prior experience in fashion, sustainability, education, or community engagement is beneficial.
• A relevant degree or training is a plus but not required.
