The Role
Newport News Shipbuilding's Automation and Controls software development team is seeking a motivated individual to assist with the design and maintenance of its graphical user interface software and customized operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Prepares operating instructions.
- Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensures software standards are met.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor's Degree
- 0 years of relevant exempt experience
- Object oriented programming using Java
- Linux experience
- Basic network skills

- Full-Time, 1st Shift
- Salary Range: $69,000.00 to $86,000.00
- Relocation assistance available
