About the Role
Punarjjani Bharat is a media initiative focused on insightful coverage of social, cultural, and public-interest issues across India. This is a contract, hybrid role for a Freelance Journalist based in Delhi, India, with flexibility for some work-from-home assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching and pitching story ideas
- Conducting interviews
- Producing clear, accurate news articles and features aligned with editorial guidelines
- Covering events on the ground when required
- Preparing press releases or media notes
- Collaborating with editors to refine stories
- Supporting basic broadcasting or multimedia content, depending on project needs
- Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Writing and News Writing skills
- Research skills
- Ability to create Press Releases
- Foundational Broadcasting skills
- Excellent command of English
- Hindi or other regional languages is an advantage
- Strong ethical judgment
- Attention to detail
- Fact-checking discipline
- Comfortable working independently
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable reporting from the field in Delhi and surrounding areas
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
