About the Role
This internship offers hands-on experience as an avionics engineer intern.
Key Responsibilities
- Design innovative hardware solutions capable of surviving harsh launch and space environments.
- Support multiple vehicle systems such as sensors, propulsion, computing, actuation, energy management, and communications.
- Mechatronics Development.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Electronics design and/or PCBA design.
- Electrical harness design and routing.
- Mechanical design experience with CAD modeling software.
- Bring-up and integration of the electrical system of large-scale systems.
- Development of electrical and mechanical test fixtures and tools.
- Design for manufacturing, manufacturing process development, manufacturing execution systems.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at a university in the USA pursuing a major in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Construction Management, or Industrial and Systems Engineering.
- Obtaining BS or MS degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, manufacturing engineering, computer science, or related field.
- Prior experience in aerospace is not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, digital multimeters, power supplies, soldering irons, and hand tools.
- Collegiate engineering competition experience (Rocketry, Formula SAE, SAE Baja Racing RoboCup, NASA Rover, etc.).
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
Compensation: $34–42 per hour.
