About the Role
- This role involves writing and debugging UniData BASIC across SaaS, mobile, and on-premise environments.
- You will troubleshoot across every application tier and support QA on quality and performance.
- You will use AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
- Work in Agile teams and lead R&D initiatives.
- The role focuses on modernization work at the boundary between the MultiValue core and the modern stack.
- The work schedule is 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM IST, Monday to Friday, with the first four hours from the Noida office and the rest from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and debug UniData BASIC code.
- Troubleshoot across all application tiers.
- Support QA for quality and performance.
- Utilize AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
- Work within Agile development teams.
- Lead R&D initiatives.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Hands-on experience with UniData or another MultiValue platform.
- Proficiency in MultiValue BASIC.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong cross-tier troubleshooting abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills for collaboration with Support, Product, QA, and customers.
Helpful, Not Required
- SB+ or 4GL.
- Java, Scala, JavaScript.
- Experience with REST services.
- Background in HR, payroll, or accounting.
Alternative Experience
- If you have deep MultiValue experience in another dialect (e.g., UniVerse, D3, jBASE, Pick), apply.
- Strong engineering skills and an appetite for a rare specialization are also considered.
