About the Role
- Finance Intern (Summer 2027) on Gusto’s Finance, BizOps & Strategy (FBOS) team.
- 12-week program working on real projects.
- Support leaders in Customer Experience, EPD, and Corporate Development.
- Assist in turning financial data into decisions regarding margin, cost to serve, and resourcing.
- Paired with a dedicated mentor and team manager.
- Cohort 1 start and end date: May 17, 2027 - August 6, 2027.
- Application Deadline: Monday, October 26th at 4:00 pm PST.
Key Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally on high-impact projects using data, automation, and AI-powered tools.
- Build and maintain recurring financial/operational reporting for partner organizations.
- Analyze cost or margin drivers and summarize findings for non-finance stakeholders.
- Support a defined roadmap project end-to-end alongside your mentor.
- Partner with CX/EPD/Corp Dev counterparts on data requests and ad hoc analysis.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Rising junior or senior (entering your 3rd or 4th year after this internship).
- Demonstrates genuine interest in financial trends, technology innovation, and applying classroom knowledge to real business challenges.
- Comfortable working in Excel/Google Sheets.
- Curious about how AI tools can speed up analysis work.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
