The Role

AIUC is seeking its first security hire, a Founding Security Engineer, to join as the product opens to the world. This role involves owning security end to end across the product, evaluation platform, and internal systems, working directly with the founders. The position is focused on solving novel agent security problems, proving solutions internally, and establishing them as industry best practices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a security leader, advise a consortium of over 300 CISOs, and shape the future of agent security standards.

In This Role, You Will

• Ensure the security of our product as it scales to enterprise customers.
• Build the secure foundation for running agents, including sandboxing, agent credential access, and core development.
• Own security across the company, encompassing network, vendors, access, data, and customer security reviews.
• Proactively address emerging risks related to new products and attack classes.
• Respond rapidly to incidents and resolve issues before they escalate.
• Integrate learnings back into AIUC-1 standards and share insights with the CISO consortium through sessions and published work.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Cloud and infrastructure security: Experience securing least-privilege IAM, SSO, clean dev/prod separation, KMS and secrets management, secure databases, user management, and identity systems.
• Agent security: Experience building an agent harness, sandboxing, managing tool permissions, credential isolation, and data-leak controls.
• Incident response: Experience building detection, logging, and incident response capabilities, and securing the corporate surface (SSO, devices, SaaS).
• Security as code: Proficiency in reviewing infrastructure changes in Terraform and automating controls.

Qualifications

• An engineering background with experience building production systems and a willingness to be hands-on.
• Experience as a founding security hire at a technical or regulated-industry company, building a security program from scratch, or as a core engineer at a security company.
• The ability to own outcomes end to end and communicate effectively, including the ability to say "no" when necessary.

Nice to Haves

• Experience translating security research into production engineering, such as reproducing new attacks on agents and implementing defenses.
• Deep architecture experience in distributed systems, ML pipelines, or large-scale platforms.
• Interest in learning from enterprise security teams, including our CISO consortium and customers, about how agents are impacting their environments.
