Safety Officer

About the Role

The Safety Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune City.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce workplace safety standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of sites and equipment.
• Identify potential hazards.
• Develop and implement safety procedures.
• Coordinate safety drills.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Investigate incidents and near misses.
• Maintain accurate safety records and reports.
• Recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Deliver safety training sessions.
• Promote a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.
• Collaborate with management to improve overall safety performance.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic computer skills for preparing reports, maintaining safety records, and using safety management software.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and Occupational Health practices, with the ability to apply them in industrial and engineering environments.
• Experience in Accident Investigation and incident reporting, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Skills in Security and risk assessment, with the capability to support site access control and overall workplace protection.
• Proficiency in Safety Training, including developing training materials and conducting sessions for diverse teams.
• Relevant certification or diploma in industrial safety, occupational health, or a related field.
• A degree in engineering or a technical discipline is an advantage.
• Familiarity with local and national safety regulations and standards applicable to engineering and construction activities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams on safety practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, perform field inspections, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
