Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for fixtures, machine components, and assemblies using CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure part accuracy and manufacturability.
- Perform design validation and assist with Finite Element Analysis (FEA); interpret results and recommend design changes.
- Work with fabrication and vendor teams to validate manufacturability, support prototyping, and oversee part testing and assembly.
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and version-controlled design documentation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during prototype and production stages; implement design improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with robotics, electronics, and software teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger automation solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers for quotations, lead times, and technical clarifications.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- GD&T
- FEA tools (SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys)
- Manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding, assembly)
- Tolerance design
- Analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of experience preferred; freshers with strong CAD/FEA skills are welcome.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD and ability to create production-ready drawings.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and tolerance design.
- Exposure to FEA tools is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
