Entry Level Storage Client Solutions Engineer 2027
IBM
About the Role
The Entry Level Storage Client Solutions Engineer is an early-career technical role designed for highly motivated graduates who want to build deep expertise across modern storage, infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and AI-driven solutions. This is not a quota-carrying sales role. You will work alongside senior engineers, product leaders, and ecosystem partners to support strategic solution design, technical validation, and scalable client engagement. You will develop into a trusted technical advisor by learning how IBM Storage solutions power hybrid cloud infrastructure for AI, data-intensive AI workloads, next-generation applications, and mission-critical customer environments. This role is an opportunity to grow into a future solutions engineer capable of driving measurable customer outcomes and contributing to IBM’s broader storage and hybrid cloud strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior engineers in client discovery, requirements analysis, and early technical qualification.
- Participate in client conversations focused on emerging technologies and challenging solution opportunities, providing research, demos, or technical collateral.
- Conduct lab validation, proof-of-concept (PoC) setups, solution testing, and basic architectural documentation.
- Contribute to the creation of repeatable solution assets, including configuration guides, validation briefs, and internal knowledge articles based on client solutions.
- Support the integration of successful client solutions into broader solution roadmaps and go-to-market (GTM) assets.
- Assist with operational tasks for partner programs, enablement sessions, ecosystem onboarding, and curated demos.
- Support the analysis of solution adoption, customer and partner activity, and technical enablement metrics.

- Understanding of containers and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker fundamentals).
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to data pipelines, AI/ML frameworks, or modern analytics platforms is a plus.
- Passion for hybrid cloud, storage, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- A strong desire to learn new technologies deeply and continuously.
- Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions, experiment, and solve challenging problems.
- A collaborative, transparent, and “help first” mindset when working with teammates and partners.
