Mechanical Design Executive

About the Role

To design, develop, and modify mechanical components, products, and assemblies as per customer requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and products.
• Develop engineering drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Prepare detailed drawings with dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and surface finish requirements.
• Develop new products and modify existing designs as per customer requirements.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, and R&D departments for design feasibility and implementation.
• Ensure designs meet applicable quality standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
• Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
• Review drawings before releasing them for production.
• Identify design-related problems and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain drawing revisions, engineering records, and design change documentation.
• Provide technical support to production during manufacturing and assembly.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge or equivalent CAD software.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and fits.
• Understanding of BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Additional CAD design certification will be an advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting.
• Freshers with good CAD knowledge may also be considered.
