Architectural Intern

About the Role

This full-time, on-site Architectural Intern role is based at Ingrain’s studio in Mumbai. The intern will support project teams in developing architectural concepts, preparing drawings, and creating design presentations across residential, commercial, and urban-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project teams in developing architectural concepts.
• Prepare drawings and create design presentations.
• Assist with 2D and 3D documentation.
• Contribute to design research and case studies.
• Coordinate with team members to refine layouts, details, and material palettes.
• Participate in internal reviews.
• Update project files and models.
• Help compile reports and submissions for clients and consultants.
• Gain exposure to sustainable design strategies, integrated urban thinking, and end-to-end project processes.

Qualifications

• Ongoing or completed education in architecture or a closely related field.
• Architectural Design skills: concept development, spatial planning, and production of drawings and visual presentations.
• Solution Architecture and Integration skills: understanding how buildings, urban systems, and landscapes work together in cohesive, sustainable designs.
• Clear Communication skills: ability to articulate design intent, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and prepare concise documentation.
• Proficiency in design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar) is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of graphic software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) is beneficial.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks within project timelines.
• Interest in sustainability, urbanism, and data-informed design approaches will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards will be an advantage.
