About the Role

The Shoplifting Annotation role is a full-time hybrid position based in the Greater Kolkata Area, with some flexibility for work from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Review retail surveillance images and videos.
• Accurately annotate instances of shoplifting-related behavior according to detailed guidelines and project requirements.
• Identify and label objects, actions, and events.
• Apply consistent tagging to relevant frames.
• Ensure high-quality, precise annotations that support training of computer vision and behavior-detection models.
• Collaborate with project leads to clarify labeling criteria.
• Participate in periodic calibration sessions to maintain annotation consistency.
• Meet productivity and quality targets within set timelines.
• Potentially involve basic documentation of edge cases, feedback on annotation tools, and coordination with quality assurance staff.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic technical and computer literacy skills: comfort with web-based annotation tools, spreadsheets, and file management.

Qualifications

• Strong observation, attention to detail, and pattern recognition skills for reviewing visual data and identifying relevant events.
• Data quality and process-oriented skills: following detailed guidelines, maintaining consistency, and meeting accuracy and productivity goals.
• Communication and collaboration skills: clear written communication, openness to feedback, and the ability to work with distributed teams.
• Ability to work full time in a hybrid model from the Greater Kolkata Area.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ideally: Prior experience in data annotation, content moderation, surveillance review, retail operations, or related analytical roles.
• Considered an advantage: Additional education in computer science, statistics, criminology, or related fields.
