Simulation and Analysis Engineer
Anduril Industries
About the Role
Anduril Industries is seeking Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MSA) Engineers to join our Flight Engineering department within the Air Dominance and Strike organization. As a critical member, you will drive the design, development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge flight system technologies for our aerospace systems. You will be involved in flight testing the systems you develop.
About the Job
This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining virtual representations of Anduril's vehicles. You will develop and coordinate the deployment and maintenance of vehicle models and simulation instantiations for various programs. The ideal candidate has experience with aerospace systems and understands the fidelity required for sub-system and system-level modeling to integrate with flight control and mission autonomy software. This role requires proficiency in vehicle/sub-system modeling and strong coding and software integration practices.
What You’ll Do

- Simulation solutions for Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm development
- Software-In-The-Loop (SITL) solutions
- Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) solutions
- Pilot-In-The-Loop (PITL) solutions
- Customer product training solutions
- Monte-Carlo simulation analysis
- Simulation and Test data analysis tools and processes
- Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system and system of system dynamics.
- Work with internal and external customers to understand simulation requirements and develop efficient modeling and simulation solutions.
- Own the end-to-end configuration of our SITL, HITL, and PITL for our test vehicles in support of safe and efficient flight tests.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related technical discipline.
- Experience with aerospace/aeronautical systems (including rotorcraft/VTOL) and/or Subsea vehicles.
- Experience in flight dynamics/platform physics and control.

- Advanced proficiency with scientific computing systems (e.g., Mathworks products (MATLAB, SIMULINK), scientific Python (numpy, scipy)).
- Experience with flight test data processing/sim correlation.
- Experience with developing sub-system and system level models (Air vehicle, ground vehicles, ground based sensors and other types of complex systems).
- Experience with model development to support Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm development.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency with C/C++.
- Flight test support experience.
- Experience with SITL and HITL simulation infrastructure design, development, and deployment for complex systems.
- Experience with developing emulated/simulation interfaces for on-board avionics.
