Cofounder (Chief Technology Officer)

About the Role

We are seeking a technical co-founder to take complete ownership of Wumn's technology, product engineering, architecture, and AI roadmap. This role requires a founder's mindset, exceptional engineering skills, and responsibility for transforming ambitious ideas into scalable products. You will collaborate closely with the founding team to shape the product, make critical technology decisions, and establish Wumn's engineering foundation.

Key Responsibilities

• Product & Engineering
• Lead the end-to-end development of Wumn's web and mobile platforms.
• Build and continuously improve the MVP through rapid experimentation and customer feedback.
• Own frontend, backend, APIs, databases, integrations, and infrastructure.
• Ensure platform performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Technology Strategy & Architecture
• Define Wumn's technical vision, architecture, and technology stack.
• Build scalable systems for social commerce, discovery, payments, customization, and marketplace operations.
• Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions to optimize speed and cost.
• Establish engineering best practices, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• AI & Innovation
• Drive the development of AI-powered fashion discovery and personalization.
• Explore AI tools that help customers translate inspirations into actionable design briefs.
• Develop technology that simplifies customization and designer-customer collaboration.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify meaningful product opportunities.
• Team Building & Leadership
• Build and mentor Wumn's future engineering team.
• Establish a culture of ownership, innovation, speed, and accountability.
• Work closely with the founding team on product strategy, priorities, and execution.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong hands-on experience in full-stack development and system architecture.
• Ability to independently design, build, launch, and scale technology products.
• Experience with modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure, databases, and APIs.
• Good understanding of AI/ML, LLMs, and their practical applications.
• Strong product thinking, problem-solving skills, and business understanding.
• Comfortable working in an early-stage environment with ambiguity, limited resources, and fast-changing priorities.
• A builder with a founder's mindset, willing to take ownership beyond a conventional job description.

Qualifications

• Prior startup, marketplace, e-commerce, or consumer technology experience is a plus.

Compensation & Equity Structure

• Year 1: Equity-Led
• Equity-based compensation for the first 12 months.
• No fixed salary during the initial 12-month period.
• Opportunity to shape the company's product, technology, and long-term direction as a co-founder.
• Year 2 Onwards: Salary + Equity
• Transition to a salary + equity compensation structure.
• Salary will be determined based on the company's funding, financial position, and mutually agreed terms.
• Continued equity participation and long-term ownership.
