About the Role
Goodwill Industries of Akron is seeking an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier. This role is ideal for a goal-oriented individual who is a "people person" and interested in career development resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all customers with a warm smile.
- Inform customers about the Elizabeth Clark Fund and encourage participation, sign-ups, or use of Goodwill Club memberships.
- Operate the cash register and point of sale system accurately and efficiently.
- Complete reports such as donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances.
- Answer the phone with friendliness and commitment to customer service.
- Select and price donated goods and textiles, ensuring Goodwill quality control standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness of all areas.
- Serve shoppers and donors, prioritizing customer service.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ability to operate a cash register.
- Basic math, computer, and typing skills.
- Ability to count back change.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere.
- Ability to promote the agency in a positive manner.
Work Schedule
- Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
